Terms of Use
EFFECTIVE DATE: 1 NOVEMBER 2026
In brief. This is a professional website, not a law firm portal. Its articles, tools and trackers are general information and do not create a lawyer-client relationship. The tools run in your browser. Books are sold by Amazon on Amazon's terms. Engagements for speaking or advisory work are governed by separate written terms. Pakistani law governs these terms, and the courts at Islamabad have jurisdiction.
1. Introduction and acceptance
1.1 These terms. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at https://www.adam-jabbar.com and all of its pages, tools, trackers, downloads and materials (together, the "Site").
1.2 Acceptance. By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
1.3 Capacity. If you use the Site on behalf of a firm, company, university, bar association or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" includes that organisation.
2. Definitions
2.1 Defined terms. In these Terms: "Content" means all text, data, graphics, images, audio, video, code and other material on the Site; "Tools" means the browser-based legal tools published under /tools/; "Trackers" means the live trackers published under /trackers/, including the Global AI Law Tracker; "Press Materials" means the press kit, biographies, photographs and one-sheet published under /press/; and "Third-Party Services" means websites, platforms and services not operated by us, including Amazon, Audible, YouTube, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Fiverr.
2.2 Interpretation. Headings are for convenience only. The words "including" and "for example" do not limit the words that precede them.
3. Who operates the Site
3.1 Operator. The Site is operated by Adam Jabbar, Advocate of the High Courts, of Islamabad, Pakistan ("we", "us" or "our"). It is a personal professional website that presents his books, writing, speaking, tools and research.
3.2 Related entities. References on the Site to TECHLAWG, AI for Lawyers Academy, YourMunshi and Mufti & Pasha Advocates and Legal Consultants are references to separate organisations with which Adam Jabbar is associated. Each of them acts under its own terms, and none of them is a party to these Terms unless it expressly says so.
4. Audience and eligibility
4.1 Professional audience. The Site is written for lawyers, law students, legal and compliance professionals, founders and organisations interested in technology law and artificial intelligence. It is not directed at children.
4.2 Age. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, to submit an enquiry through the Site.
5. No legal advice and no lawyer-client relationship
5.1 General information only. The Content, including articles, book descriptions, tracker entries, answers to frequently asked questions and Tool results, is general information about the law and legal technology. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice on your particular facts.
5.2 No relationship formed. Using the Site, reading the Content, running a Tool or sending a message through the Site does not create a lawyer-client, advocate-client or other professional relationship. Such a relationship arises only when it is agreed in writing, after conflict checks, under a signed engagement letter or equivalent written terms.
5.3 Do not send confidential information. Please do not send confidential, privileged or time-sensitive information about a legal matter through the Site before an engagement is confirmed. Information sent before that point may not be protected as confidential and will not stop any limitation period from running.
5.4 Jurisdiction. Laws differ between countries and change often. Content that describes the law of one jurisdiction may not apply in yours. Take advice from a lawyer qualified in the relevant jurisdiction before acting.
6. Professional conduct
6.1 Not a solicitation. The Site is maintained to provide information about Adam Jabbar's published work, research and public engagements. It is not intended to solicit legal work and should be read consistently with the rules of professional conduct that apply to advocates in Pakistan.
6.2 No comparative claims. Nothing on the Site is a claim that any lawyer or service is better than another. References to rankings, reviews and publication dates state facts as recorded by the cited source on the date stated.
7. Engagements
7.1 Separate terms. Speaking, training, consulting, drafting and advisory engagements are governed exclusively by the written terms agreed for each engagement. Advisory work for software and AI businesses is delivered through TECHLAWG. Work commissioned through Fiverr is governed by Fiverr's own terms of service and order terms.
7.2 Precedence. If anything in these Terms conflicts with the written terms of an engagement, the engagement terms prevail for that engagement.
8. The free Tools
8.1 How they work. The Tools apply automated, rule-based checks to text you paste or answers you select. They run in your browser. They do not use artificial intelligence services and do not send your text to us or to any third party.
8.2 Limits. The Tools are aids to your own review. They may miss issues, flag points that are not problems, or reflect law as at a date that has since changed. A clean result does not mean a document is complete, compliant or enforceable.
8.3 Your responsibility. You remain solely responsible for any document you draft, review, sign, publish or rely on, and for any decision you make after using a Tool.
8.4 Free of charge. The Tools are provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or withdraw any Tool at any time.
9. The Trackers and sourced information
9.1 Point-in-time summaries. The Trackers summarise the status of laws, regulatory deadlines, court decisions and events as at the verification date shown on each Tracker. Countdown clocks are calculated from the dates stated in the cited sources.
9.2 Check the source. Each entry links to its source where one is available. Before you rely on an entry, check the source and confirm the current position. Legislative status, commencement dates and court outcomes can change after the verification date.
9.3 Corrections. If you believe an entry is inaccurate, email contact@adam-jabbar.com with the source. We review corrections in good faith but are not obliged to make any change.
10. Books and retailers
10.1 Sold by retailers. The books are sold by Amazon and, for audiobooks, by Amazon and Audible. Every purchase is a contract between you and that retailer on the retailer's terms. We do not process payments, handle delivery, or decide prices, availability, refunds or returns.
10.2 Direct links. Links to retailers are direct links. They are not affiliate links, and we receive no commission for a click. As the author, Adam Jabbar receives royalties from sales in the ordinary way.
10.3 Descriptions. Book descriptions, page counts, publication dates and formats are taken from the retailer listings and the author's records. If a retailer listing differs from the Site, the retailer listing governs your purchase.
10.4 Bulk orders. Requests for bulk copies for firms, bar associations, universities or events are invitations to discuss. No order exists until confirmed in writing.
11. Speaking and event enquiries
11.1 No booking until confirmed. Submitting an invitation through the Site does not reserve a date. A speaking engagement is confirmed only when both sides agree the date, format, fee (if any), travel and recording arrangements in writing.
11.2 Event listings. Past events are listed for the record, with links to public posts where available. A listing does not imply that an organiser endorses the Site, the books or any service.
12. Press Materials
12.1 Licence for editorial use. Journalists, event organisers and publishers may download and reproduce the Press Materials, without alteration other than cropping and resizing, to report on or promote Adam Jabbar, his books or an event at which he appears, with credit where practicable.
12.2 Restrictions. The Press Materials must not be used in advertising for any other product or service, in a way that suggests endorsement, or in any misleading, defamatory or unlawful context.
13. Intellectual property
13.1 Ownership. Unless stated otherwise, the Content and the design, code and arrangement of the Site belong to Adam Jabbar and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, including the Copyright Ordinance, 1962 of Pakistan and equivalent laws elsewhere.
13.2 Books. The books are the work of Adam Jabbar. Their covers are shown on the Site to identify them, and no licence to reproduce the books or their covers is granted except under clause 12.
13.3 Third-party marks. Names and logos of publications, organisations, platforms and retailers belong to their owners. They are used to identify where Adam Jabbar's work has appeared or the organisations with which he has engaged, and their use does not imply endorsement.
14. Your licence to use the Site
14.1 Permitted use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view the Site, use the Tools for your own professional work, share links to any page and quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the source page.
14.2 Reserved rights. Except as these Terms allow, you must not copy, republish, sell, sub-license or create derivative works from the Content, or reproduce a substantial part of any Tool, Tracker or page, without our prior written consent.
15. Tracker data licence
15.1 Open data. The data in the Global AI Law Tracker may be reused under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), provided you credit "Adam Jabbar, Global AI Law Tracker" and link to the Tracker page.
15.2 Other Trackers. Unless a Tracker page states otherwise, other Trackers are covered by clause 14.
16. Acceptable use
16.1 Prohibited conduct. You must not: (a) use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its hosting or any connected system; (c) introduce malware or interfere with the Site's security or performance; (d) scrape, crawl or copy the Site in a way that places an unreasonable load on it or circumvents any technical measure; (e) send unsolicited commercial messages through the contact routes; or (f) impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
16.2 Applicable law. Conduct of this kind may also be an offence under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 of Pakistan and equivalent laws in other countries. We may report it to the relevant authorities.
16.3 Automated access. Search engines and AI systems may index the Site in line with its robots.txt file. Indexing does not grant any right to reproduce the Content beyond what the law permits.
17. Your submissions
17.1 Accuracy. When you contact us you must give accurate information and have the right to share anything you send.
17.2 Feedback. If you send suggestions, corrections or ideas about the Site, the Tools, the Trackers or the books, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment. Personal information in a submission is handled under the Privacy Policy.
18. Third-Party Services, embeds and links
18.1 Embedded content. Some pages display video from YouTube and book cover images served by Amazon. That content is provided by those services under their own terms and privacy policies.
18.2 Links. Links to Third-Party Services are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or practices, and a link does not mean we endorse them.
19. Reviews, testimonials and endorsements
19.1 Verbatim and attributed. Client reviews, reader recommendations and press quotations on the Site are reproduced verbatim from their published source, attributed as published, and shortened only where an ellipsis shows it.
19.2 No guarantee of outcome. Reviews describe the experience of the individual reviewer. They do not guarantee any result in any other matter.
20. Availability and changes
20.1 Availability. We aim to keep the Site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend the Site for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.
20.2 Changes to the Site. We may update, add to or remove any part of the Site, including Tools and Trackers, at any time.
20.3 Changes to these Terms. We may revise these Terms. The Effective Date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
21. Disclaimers
21.1 As available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site, the Content, the Tools and the Trackers are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
21.2 Statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited by the law that applies to you.
22. Limitation of liability
22.1 Excluded losses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Site, the Content, the Tools or the Trackers, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise.
22.2 Free use. Because the Site and its Tools are provided free of charge, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD 100) or its equivalent in Pakistani rupees.
22.3 Non-excludable liability. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Liability under an engagement is governed by the terms of that engagement.
23. Indemnity
23.1 Your indemnity. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from your breach of clause 14, clause 16 or clause 17, or from your unlawful use of the Site.
24. Governing law and disputes
24.1 Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
24.2 Amicable resolution. Before starting proceedings, each party will first try to resolve the dispute by written notice and good-faith discussion for at least thirty (30) days.
24.3 Jurisdiction. Subject to clause 24.2, the courts at Islamabad have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you use the Site as a consumer, nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of mandatory laws or the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
25. General provisions and contact
25.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of the Site.
25.2 Severability and waiver. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest of these Terms remain in effect. A failure or delay in enforcing any provision is not a waiver of it.
25.3 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor operator of the Site.
25.4 Electronic communications. You agree that notices and communications may be given electronically, which the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002 of Pakistan recognises.
25.5 Contact. Questions about these Terms may be sent to contact@adam-jabbar.com.
